请问老师，第一句话里的 advocate for democracy，这里的advocate是作动词还是名词？
而第二句话里的 they were advocating for 里的 advocating 明显是作动词，但后面如何可以接 for 呢？

2. 《牛津字典》没，大概是由于advocate for 是美国英语，牛津或许没网站收录这种使用方法。你改查其他字典试一试，一定会有。
